Word Banks

Word banks are the lists of words or phrases that supply the words used when a Sentence is generated.

Word Banks can be viewed by doing the following:

 If the Browser window is not visible, select 'Browser' > 'View' from the menu or press F4. On the Browser Toolbar, click on the button that looks like the picture to the right. The Browser will now show a list of all the Word Banks in the current file. To view or edit the contents of a Word Bank, double-click on it's icon in the list. A window will open showing the list of words or phrases in that Word Bank.

Editing the contents of a Word Bank

To change an item already in a Word Bank:

Click on the text to make it editable.
Make the corrections you require then click on another item to complete editing.

To add items to a Word Bank:

Once the Word Bank is open, Press the 'Add' button on the main toolbar. The Add Tool Window will open underneath the Word Bank window. To add words or phrases, simply type them into the text box on the Add Tool and press the Add button or hit the return key.

Using Cut, Copy, Paste and Delete:

You can also use these functions from the 'Edit' menu to manipulate the contents of Word Banks. For instance, you could select a number of items in one Word Bank and cut them to the clipboard, create a new Word Bank and paste the items from the clipboard into it.

To Create a Word Bank:

From the 'File' menu, select 'New...' then select 'Word Bank'. A dialogue box will open asking you to provide a name for the new Word Bank. You can use a name of any length or any type of character, but the name must be unique in the current file. Wordz will warn you if the name is already in use.

To Delete a Word Bank:

Select the Word Bank in the browser list box by clicking on it. From the 'Word Bank' menu, select 'Delete Word Bank'. Wordz will check to see how many Sentences in the current file refer to the selected Word Bank, then ask you to confirm the decision.

To Copy a Word Bank:

Select the Word Bank in the browser list box by clicking on it. From the 'Word Bank' menu, select 'Copy Word Bank'. A dialogue box will open asking you to provide a name for the new Word Bank. Pressing OK will create a copy of the Word Bank with the new name.

To Rename a Word Bank:

Click on the name of the word bank in the browser list so that it becomes editable.
Edit the name then click on another item to complete the process.
Wordz will scan the sentences in the current file and rename instances of the word bank.
